Loving Husband Trilogy (Book 1&2)
How long would you wait for the one you loved?
Her Dear & Loving Husband, the new novel from Meredith Allard, is part literary fiction, part historical fiction, part romance, and part paranormal fantasy. With elements of Twilight and The Crucible, Her Dear & Loving Husband is a story for anyone who believes that true love never dies.
James Wentworth has a secret. He lives quietly in Salem, Massachusetts, making few ties anywhere. One night his private world is turned upside down when he meets Sarah Alexander, a dead ringer for his wife, Elizabeth. Though it has been years since Elizabeth’s death, James cannot move on.
Sarah also has a secret. She is haunted by nightmares about the Salem Witch Trials, and every night she is awakened by visions of hangings, being arrested, and dying in jail. Despite the obstacles of their secrets, James and Sarah fall in love. As James comes to terms with his feelings for Sarah, he must dodge accusations from a reporter desperate to prove that James is not who, or what, he seems to be. With the help of their friends, witches Jennifer and Olivia, James and Sarah piece their stories together and discover a mystery that may bind them in ways they never imagined. Will James make the ultimate sacrifice to protect Sarah and prevent a new hunt from bringing hysteria to Salem again?
How far will you go to protect the one you love?
Finally, after many long and lonely years, James Wentworth’s life is falling into place. Together with his wife, Sarah, the only woman he has ever loved, he has found the meaning behind her nightmares about the Salem Witch Trials, and now they are rebuilding the life they began together so long ago.
But the past is never far behind for the Wentworths. While Sarah is haunted by new visions, now about the baby she carried over three hundred years before, James is confronted with painful memories from his time with the Cherokee on the Trail of Tears. Through it all, the persistent reporter Kenneth Hempel reappears, still determined to prove that the undead walk the earth. If Hempel succeeds in his quest, James and Sarah will suffer. Will the curse of the vampire prevent James and Sarah from living their happily ever after?
Her Loving Husband’s Curse is Book Two of the Loving Husband Trilogy. Book One, Her Dear & Loving Husband, is now available from Copperfield Press.
Sarah arrived in Salem after leaving L.A. once her divorce was finalized. Although she had a fresh start, she still suffered from the nightmares that plagued her. Once in Salem the dreams become more vivid. Sarah gets new friends and meets James Wentworth and soon her entire reality of her past, present and future changes.
I looked forward to reading this series!:O)…I enjoy History and also Paranormal stories, so together I knew this would be a perfect fit for me. Also the fact I read it had some elements similar to Twilight (one of my favorite series) then I knew I had to read!!:O)
There was a strong Gothic atmosphere in the book and the story was very well written and and the historical elements were fascinating and it was clear that the author had researched in depth for the book.
I was pulled in from the beginning, and was happy to follow Sarah and James budding romance. I was horrified by the details of the Witch trials and completely believed Sarah’s fear and horror from the nightmares that plagued her.
I truly enjoyed this first book in the series and look forward expectantly to reading the others!!:O)
I fully recommend to those who enjoy History, Paranormal Romances:)
Again for those that enjoy History and Romance with Paranormal aspects, then you will love this trilogy!! The second book did not disappoint. I was very happy to re-enter the lives of James and Sarah newly married. The couple was building the life that had been denied to them previously, but regrettable their new found happiness is dampened as James begins having memories of his time on the Trail Of Tears and Sarah dreams of the child she carried over 300 years previously as well.
I was completely enthralled by this book and the author did a magnificent job of once again mixing the historical facts into the telling!!:O) The story is well written and I am mesmerized by the love between the two main characters…and simply wish that they would be left alone and allowed their happiness. ,lol
I really like Jennifer and Olivia and the new secondary characters introduced…the plot is intriguing, it flows well and now I am looking forward to the last book:)
