About The Book
Have you looked in the mirror recently? Was the person looking back at you the person you used to be or are you not sure who is starring back at you. Sometimes during the course of life we allow ourselves to become what society says we ought to be. Society and it’s norms should not be how we define ourselves. God has made each one of us to be unqiuely different and special in our own right. When we take the time to examine ourselves we may be surprised how much of the real us is gone. Physically we disfigured ourselves or made ourselves sick trying to measure up to how society says we ought to look or be. Who I Be is personal. It is time that we focus on who and how God intended for us to be. We were fearfully and wonderfully made and we should find satisfaction in being made in God’s image and not who or what society says we should be. Our physical, emotional, mental, and financial status does not make us. Who I Be is about the person who can be themselves and not be stressed or anxious about becoming another product of circumstances or norms to be wholly.
Interview with Author Annie Brown
I want to start off with the basics, (It’s a two part question), and so how long have you been writing? And second when did you realize this was what you wanted to do professionally?
I started scribbling as a child, but never had any intention of ever publishing, until I was give my first inspiration to write in 2003 and publish in 2011. I love teaching and I want to be able to help others but I am still not certain that route entails continuing writing the material.
I am sure that you have heard this question before; how do you come up with your ideas?
So far my ideas have been inspired from the realities of life and events that cause individuals not to be all they were created to be.
What is the story behind this great series?
I wish it was just a story but I see so many people trying to conform to societal norms of what they believe needs to be lived up to. Most fail and then begins the low self-esteem, depression, and other negative images of their selves. My story line is that we were made in the image of God and everyone is unique; therefore, each person need to love who God created them to be.
Tell us your most rewarding experience since being published?
I believe the most rewarding has been the testimonies of how my first book “Christians with Pervasive Issues” was an influence in helping them to forgive those who had hurt them and know that there is a ray of hope when a certain pattern of behavior has followed them all their lives.
If someone wrote a book about your life, what would the title be?
When I look back from where God has brought me from and what statistics predicted I should have become “Yes, I can” is a good title.
What are your views regarding Indie vs. Traditional publishing; and do you have any predictions regarding the continuance of the E-Pub boom?
My views are limited as to Traditional publishing but I can very well say that I enjoyed the process of self-publishing. I believe that the continuance of E-Pub will go forward. There are so many new initiatives and people are not going to stop liking their entertainment and education.
Yes. Currently, I am working on a project about my Journey as a Social Worker working with the terminally ill.
