IndieWritersReview’ Review of Winter’s Touch and Fire And Ash (Immortal Touch series!) by Allie Gail

book review

Hello Everyone! Today I would like to share my thoughts on two great reads! They are book one and two of Author Allie Gail’s-Winter’s Touch and Fire and Ash!

About the Author

a allie gail

A resident of sunny Florida, Allie Gail is the author of Unconventional Scars, Winter’s Touch: Immortal Touch Book One and Fire and Ash: Immortal Touch Book Two. Allie’s had an obsession with reading ever since the day she was issued her first Sally, Dick and Jane reader. (Never mind how long ago that was!) When she isn’t busy obsessing over the lexicon of her novels, she can usually be found with her nose in a book, a cat on her lap and music impairing her hearing from headphones turned up way too high. Or sometimes roaming about Azeroth as a night elf rogue. Yep, that’s right.

And yes, on occasion…at the beach

Both books available on Amazon!

a winters touch

Second-year college student Evangeline Spencer has learned over the years how to cope with the disturbing dreams that have plagued her since childhood. But now, fifteen years after his startling revelation, the nightmare from next door has returned to claim her.

Swept away to a remote location in Oregon, Eva has become the possession of someone incapable of compassion or remorse. Julian Winter is a vampire with the face of an angel, a ruthless killer whose sole intent is to staunch his craving for her blood. And to survive, she’ll have to search the remotest depths of his soul for any remnants of humanity. Can she make his resurrected heart feel again?

Or will the crux of her life be slowly consumed?

I will forgo the normal recap, and go straight to my thoughts on the read.  First the entire time reading, I had this image of Julian in my head, whether it was the image the author intended I am not sure…but it was in my mind for this character the entire time!

Jamie Campbell Bower

My image of Winter’s Touch Julian!

I had recently seen Mortal Instruments (movie) and so this actor was fresh in my mind…,lol that being said, for my to take the time to locate a picture, this shows how much, I loved the characters in Winter’s Touch!!… Julian and Eva were so wonderful together:O) I enjoyed the dialogue and the interaction between them. Winter’s Touch was very well written, a wonderful pace and flow, no lag tag. I enjoyed the seeing the growth and the evolution of Julian. How the author showed him going from a creature of habit, firmly rooted in his beliefs and then comes Eva and turns everything upside down!

I loved the scenes of five year old Eva and Julian, the moment when he first encountered the young woman who will grow up to change his existence.  The scenes were so very funny how the spunky child was able to wrap vampire Julian around her little finger…

There was humor laced throughout the book…I actually was laughing out loud at parts….also the author incorporated  the perfect balance of adventure, sprinkled with twist and turns and searing romance.

This was really a great read, and I have become a true fan of Ms. Gail’s works:O)

I fully recommend for anyone that is a fan of Paranormal Romance, and Mystery! (Best for Older Teens and Adults)

a fire and ash

To the humans employed at his beachfront resort, Florida real estate developer Asher Reid is known as a narcissistic womanizer and temperamental control freak. To the secret, select group of immortals, he is the irrefutable enforcer of vampire law. Yet hidden beneath the charismatic façade lie the alpha’s true obsessions – adrenaline highs, nightshade and an enduring lust for depravity.

Running from a faithless ex-fiancé who won’t stop stalking her, Samara Porter hopes to find refuge working within the posh resort. But her tropical paradise houses an even bigger threat when she becomes the prime target for Asher’s unwholesome games. Seduced by his deviant desires, Sami quickly finds herself caught up in a world where pain and pleasure coexist, testing the boundaries of how far she is willing to go to learn his corrupt secrets. And with her final test of loyalty comes a dark ultimatum – to kill for him…or face his lethal wrath.

Are you ready to go someplace dark?

Ms. Gail did not disappoint with the second book in the Immortal Touch series! Although Eva and Julian did make an appearance in the book, the book focused more so on Sammie and Ash…a vampire with an extremely dark side. The story focused on the downward spiral of Sammi, who falls desperately in love with Ash, who takes her to a dark place. Fire and Ash was also very well written, wonderful pace and flow…there were sprinkles of humor and Ms. Gail showed her incredible talent in being able to explore the ranges of emotion, from the healthier love of Eva and Julian in contrast to the darker, more sexually infused… at times painful relationship of Ash and Sammie!

I also enjoyed Fire and Ash– although it was difficult to watch the character Sammie– who started out a very smart, savvy, strong young woman go dark…Sammie had issues, but she was getting her life back on track, then comes Ash a narcissistic Vampire who I truly thought would show some redeeming qualities eventually, but he remained true to  his darkness and with that darkness almost consumed Sammi.

The Author is very talented in being able to show such contrast in her writing!

I enjoyed Fire and Ash and fully recommend for anyone that enjoys Paranormal, Romance and mystery and Suspense! Best for Older Teens and Adults.

  1. I too have read both of Allie Gail’s “Immortal Touch” books. I have also read “Unconventional Scars”. You are absolutely right, Ms. Gail is a truly gifted author and I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next.
